Mumbai 3.0 — also referred to as Third Mumbai — is India’s newest urban growth frontier strategically planned to decongest the core city and expand the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Formally notified as Karnala–Sai–Chirner (KSC) New Town, the project covers over 323 sq km, including parts of Uran, Panvel, Pen, and Raigad, and is managed by the New Town Development Authority (MMRDA NTDA).
Key Features of Mumbai 3.0
Connectivity Corridors: Future infrastructure will link Third Mumbai seamlessly with greater MMR.
Planned Urban Expansion: Designed as a self-sufficient city with residential, commercial, IT, logistics, tourism, and industrial zones.
Affordable Entry Point: Unlike central Mumbai suburbs, rates here are significantly lower, appealing to first-time buyers and investors.
Why It Matters
Mumbai’s core city is now heavily saturated with high real estate prices and traffic congestion. Mumbai 3.0 aims to relieve this pressure through controlled and balanced growth. Developers and global investors are already positioning themselves for long-term gains as infrastructure projects near completion.
